Somewhere along the way I opted into sale text alerts from Free People, and the other day my completely unintentional “effort” paid off big time.

Text: “Today Only: Favorite Jeans and Pants are only $50!”
My first thought was, “Am I being punk’d?”

I own Free People pieces but I can say unequivocally that I have never paid full price. If I find a piece that I really love I start searching for the best deal. I learned a long time ago that you can score in-season Free People at Nordstrom Rack, Belk (yes, Belk), and even T.J. Maxx & Marshalls. Macy’s and Dillard’s also have insane sales that include Free People. Once I went into a Dillard’s and scored two pairs of jeans and a skirt for $40.

That is an actual receipt of brand new Free People jeans for $13.65, and a Free People skirt for $10.50. Please tell me why you would EVER pay full-price.
So…could it really be that maybe, just maybe, THOSE BEAUTIFUL BELL BOTTOMS I HAVE BEEN DREAMING OF ARE IN THE SALE ON THE ACTUAL WEBSITE?

Low and behold, they were. And quite frankly, I love them even more than I thought I would. They are the perfect combination of sass and hippie appreciation. I bought them in Kai Blue. I’m just waiting for the sale to come back so I can buy the other five colors. I linked them here!
